Having read The Garden Girls in 2024 and not having a chance to read the first two books in the series yet, I immediately downloaded and got lost in another twisted case. So, imagine my excitement when I saw on Instagram that her FBI: Strange Crimes Unit series was recently put on Kindle Unlimited! Not only is today the last day of October, it is also the eve of my little sister's wedding! I cannot believe how quickly this engagement time has gone by! I am a bridesmaid in a wedding this fall, and we are doing all of the decorating ourselves. I have been recruited to do several DIYs and while it hasn't all been smooth sailing, I will say that I am enjoying the process more than I thought I would. What is it about making something with your own hands that is so satisfying? While taking breaks from all the craftiness as well as the usual busyness of the season, I have been able to sneak in some reading and have been enjoying some amazing reads.

I have been a busy little bee as I help work on wedding preparations for my younger sister's upcoming wedding in November, which means my reading time has been quickly shrinking. This always seems to happen in August, no matter what, and it always makes me sad as I know that the end of summer is near. I know I'm not the only one that is feeling the rush as school starts and early signs of fall are peeking through the summer sunshine, which is why I am so thankful that you're here with me today.

Book Review of 'Ambush in the Mountains' by Mary Alford

Happy Wednesday Bookworms!

There is nothing better than iced coffee and a good book on a hot summer day, and the novel I am featuring today is the perfect companion.  I have been on a canine kick lately, devouring novels with dogs as well as my entire social media consumption, most likely due to losing our family pet in January of this year.  There is just something about the companionship that you have with a dog that is like no other and when I read stories with a canine companion it makes it that much more special.
