Book Review of 'Exodus Team: New Roads' by BEBogdon

Every once in a while, a novel comes into my world that is nothing like I've ever read before and the book I am featuring today is exactly that. I have heard of paranormal ghost hunting and spiritual warfare but never have I read a book that comingles these two ideas. I hope you enjoy my thoughts on this unique novel and tell me in the comments the last novel that you read that was nothing like you've read before.

My Review

This novel has quite an interesting premise, which instantly piqued my curiosity, and I quickly discovered that this was going to be a novel unlike anything I’ve ever read.

I appreciate that all of the spiritual warfare was inspired by Scripture and motivated by faith and prayer. Reading the actual Scriptures as they were in battle was pretty amazing and clearly shows that God’s Word is still very much alive and incredibly powerful.

While an interesting concept that is intriguing, there seems to be quite a bit to the narrative that is nothing more than fluff and doesn’t do anything to drive the story. I understand putting things in that aid in understanding the trio’s faith, including Scriptures and their discussion about certain theology, but it really dragged down the pacing and at times felt unnatural. What made up for it were the parts where they were dealing with the actual paranormal activity, though these scenes were minuscule compared to the rest of the story.

While a slower pace, this was a quick read that I easily read in a few short hours, and it’s a story that stuck with me longer than I had anticipated. I have never read a Christian adventure that tackles demonic activity in a paranormal way before, and I am now fascinated and am already anticipating the next book in the series.
