My family has been fighting the flu the past week and a half and I thought I was immune until yesterday when my body started aching and my temperature shot up to 102.5. Needless to say, I will be spending the weekend in bed and praying for a speedy recovery. The only good thing about being in bed sick is it gives you time to catch up on your reading and to read some amazing stories, like the novel I am featuring today.

My Review

“Sometimes what appears to be a mistake from our point of view is something God is using to do what he intended all along.”

When I picked up The Hunted Heir, I did not expect it to capture my imagination like it did, and when I realized this was a debut novel, I was completely blown away. Wow!

There is something in this story for everyone. Mystery, intrigue, sweet romance, and the quest to find the truth and forgiveness abound, and it was quite the powerful and entertaining ride. This story really fed not only my love of sleuthing but my passion for all things genealogical. This story felt so true and honest that I wouldn’t have been shocked if I read that this was based on a true story.

The multiple investigations keep things interesting, but what really sparked my interest was the undeniable chemistry between Nona and DeMarcus. They are just so great together, and I was just as powerless to DeMarcus’s charms as Nona was. But my favorite character, hands down, was Pastor Grant. His resilience, strength, and faith were empowering to read and truly touched my spirit.

I am so thankful that I had the opportunity to read this incredible novel, and I cannot recommend it enough.
