It's been a while since I've read a debut novel that blew me away like the novel I'm featuring today did. I can't remmeber the last time I read a medical mystery that had me so entranced.

My Review

I never read the synopsis before I start a novel, as I love surprises, and just from the cover alone, I was intrigued. As I began to read, I was caught off guard by the futuristic, dystopian feel, which was something that took me a minute to get into, as this is not a genre that I generally gravitate towards, but it didn’t take me long to get absolutely absorbed in the narrative. I was absolutely blown away early on, which wasn’t what I was expecting at all, especially coming from a debut novel.

“There is something very oppressive about carrying on life without a source of strength.” - This quote really hit me in the feels, especially as I digested all of the Bible Scriptures and talk of faith, which was a lot. There is a beacon of hope for the hopeless and a story that I know will touch lives.

The characters carry the narrative, and it’s not hard to connect with these individuals. What they endure is fascinating, and there are some pretty intense moments with twists and turns. What really is crazy to me is the fact that something like this could happen one day, which is a terrifying thought.

I enjoyed this novel so much that I immediately started reading the companion novel, Rescuing the Remnant, as I wasn’t ready for the story to end. This is an amazing story that is thought-provoking, inspiring, and one I highly recommend.
