Book Review of 'Yosemite Firestorm' by Tanya Stowe

Happy Monday Bookworms!

I hope everyone had a terrific weekend and a great start to April.  On Saturday my husband and I celebrated twelve years together.  Our wedding anniversary is April 20th, but we always try to do something special on April 1st, and we always tell one another that we're still, and will forever be, "April Fools!" ♥️

This year we celebrated with family by walking around a local swap meet.  I found an incredible book from 1949 that I can't stop sniffing (if you know, you know) as well as a big bag of some of the best kettle corn popcorn I've ever had.  It was an amazing day, and I could not have a more thankful heart.

Today I am featuring a novel that was so much fun to read, and if you're a fan of the Love Inspired Suspense series then I know you're going to love it too.

My Review

I am by no means a nature girl, but there is something about a good story set in nature that sets my heart aflutter.  Maybe deep down I wish I could be more of an outdoorsy type and so I live vicariously through stories like Yosemite Firestorm.  Maybe that’s why the descriptions of the hikes were some of my favorite parts.  I’ve never went on a real hike before, but I’ve always wanted to, and reading about the waterfalls and the other scenery inspired my imagination, and set the perfect tone for the story.

Let me just say, I can’t even imagine how terrifying a fire storm is! Tornadoes are scary enough, and I’ve dealt with a few in my lifetime, but when you add a fire component to it, it is almost unimaginable!  I felt like I was right there on the mountain with Hayden and Livy, experiencing every spark, the chemistry between them smoldering as much as the embers from the fires, as well as the suspense from being chased by menacing bad guys, which never let up.  I did feel like Hayden was way too hard on himself for his past “mistake” but I also loved his redemption story.  The ending was perfectly sweet but overly predictable, which sadly kind of ruined it for me.  I was hoping for a little twist that never came.

Overall, this was a quick, enjoyable read that would be the perfect weekend novel to get lost in.  Strong characters, wonderful suspense, and picturesque backdrop, even if it is a little charred, and you’ve got yourself one entertaining story.

My Rating: ★★★★
