MY REVIEW
Everly Scott never wanted Moreland Manor. She has moved as far away from southern Louisiana as she can be, both personally and professionally, focusing on her successful career as a CPA, and giving up on love after her husband was tragically taken from her. Everly craves order and numbers are constant. Talk about a girl after my own heart, as I too am looking into a career as an accountant for this very reason.
Everly’s mom left Moreland Manor to restore, and do with it as her heart leads her to, but all Everly craves is to be rid of this albatros. Through specific instructions left by her mother, Everly must begrudgingly hire the person of her mom’s choosing, Gabe Bellevue, to undertake this monumental task.
There is a serious fire and ice situation between Gabe and Everly that I am so here for! The attraction is apparent, but unspoken words lead to miscommunications that fuel the flames between the pair, leading to unwise choices that make this story twist and turn. I appreciated the fact that not only are the main characters well developed and each show great personal growth, but the supporting characters are also developed, which lead to great world building and a very character driven narrative. The thread of faith throughout is not forced, but gives a added layer that whispered to my own heart, and was breathtakingly beautiful.
Not to mention you have a restoration going on on top of the relationship drama, which I always love reading about. Mary A. Felkins is the best about bringing vivid imagery to her stories, and You Are the Reason is no exception.
It did take me a bit to get into this story, but once I got more into the meat of the story I was hooked. This was a great escape and a wonderfully inspirational story that was truly a joy to read.

Raised in Houston, Texas (and forever a Lone Star girl), Mary and her husband Bruce moved to the foothills of North Carolina in 1997. They have four young adult children.
She can be lured from her desk if presented with a large, unopened bag of Peanut M&Ms. A surprise appearance by her teen idol, Donny Osmond, would also do the trick, although she’d likely pass out.
