Shy and awkward meets handsome and out-of-practice.
Marci Haroldson is a brainy engineer, too shy and awkward to thrust herself into the Paradise Springs small-town dating scene. She’s always dreamed of having a family of her own, but there’s no one who she can see herself building a future with. Until Jared.
Jared Davis hasn’t been in a relationship since he was forced into the role of parent for his siblings when their parents were killed in a car accident. He’d love to get his personal life back on track, but he’s terribly rusty and can’t even remember the last time he went on a date.
When Marci and Jared join the church’s new praise choir, Jared slowly peels away Marci’s awkward layers and finds himself falling for her. But does he want to expand the family he’s already got?
When a meddlesome group of friends provides unneeded relationship advice and Mother Nature nearly ruins their first date, the relationship looks like it’s doomed before it even gets started.
Do these two hearts eventually get on the same page and sing the music of love?
The Music of Love is a blend of humor, romance, faith, and life’s second chances. This heart-warming clean Christian romance is Book 3 in the Paradise Springs series. This book can be read as a standalone.
I have truly loved the Paradise Springs series so far, which is why I was so excited when The Music of Love came out! I have really become invested in these characters, and this sweet little town.
“Am I brave enough to give a relationship with him a chance?” is a question I’m sure we’ve all asked ourselves a time or two. Taking a chance on someone takes bravery, and I loved watching both Jared and Marci take a chance on love, each in their own individual ways. They are just too stinkin’ cute together, and I love how they have that shy, clumsy feel, almost high school by way of innocence, which is refreshingly sweet.
I will say that theirs is a slow burn, and I did not immediately feel the sparks fly between the two of them, but man when they ignited they were red hot! The means with which Marci tried to get Jared’s attention were humorous at times, but I will say that I didn’t care for her using her appearance as much as she did, and I felt myself losing a little bit of respect for the character. She is such a beautiful soul, and her resorting to dressing the way she did was beneath her, and I found myself cringing during those parts, especially with her friends urging her along, and Jared’s reaction to her dress. Honestly, I wish that part could’ve been left out, but I’m sure that’s just a personal preference.
I will say that Marci does redeem herself, and the ending was so incredibly swoony that I think I audibly said, “Awww!!” multiple times. It was so great to see Jared and Marci get their happy endings!
Like I stated before, I adore this series and cannot wait to see what adventures await, and who is going to fall in love next!
