She's looking for a long-term relationship. He's only in Paradise Springs for a short time.
Amber Morton has lived in Paradise Springs most of her life. She’s been looking for someone to settle down with, but she’s not found her dream man yet. She tells herself that she’s content raising her teenage son and working at the refurbished furniture store, but the truth is she’s lonely and her life feels incomplete.
Mack Wright was brought in to save Robertson Industries—the largest and most prestigious employer in town. He’s in Paradise Springs only long enough to dig out the failing company, then he’ll be on his way to help save the next sinking ship.
When Amber meets her son’s assistant hockey coach, she doesn’t know how much her life is going to change. She’s immediately attracted to Mack, although she wonders if he’s the next man who’s going to leave her, just like Aiden’s father did.
Amber and Aiden might be the family Mack’s always wanted deep down, but is he willing to jeopardize his successful and lucrative career to settle in this small town? Mack’s suddenly torn between the career he’s always loved and a love he never imagined was possible.
Will these two lonely hearts eventually find happiness?
The Song of Grace is a blend of humor, romance, faith, and life’s second chances. This heart-warming clean Christian romance is Book 2 in the Paradise Springs series. This book can be read as a standalone.
Romance and hockey? Um...yes please!! This is the second book in the Paradise Springs series, and I am seriously smitten. I caught myself with a goofy grin on my face multiple times as I read the interactions between Mack and Amber, their attraction sizzling through the pages, though their relationship is not without its issues.
Mack struggles with the thought of “limited time,” as his job at Robertson Industries is temporary, and he will be leaving when his job is done. What he didn’t bargain for was falling in love. In Amber he has met his match in every way, but she too grapples with her own issues, her past and present colliding, aka everything she has feared coming to fruition.
It’s difficult being a single mom, but Amber does it flawlessly, and I admire her relationship with her teenage son, Aiden. I enjoyed seeing his talents on the ice, and his wonderful temperament off the ice. I have two teenage boys myself and I can only dream of either of them acting like this! I applaud Aiden’s maturity and humbleness, despite him being an only child, and having such an incredible talent, but not once did he let it go to his head.
The one thing my boys do have in common with Aiden is their insatiable appetites, which Aiden’s is well documented in this novel, and I can wholeheartedly agree that this couldn’t be more true to life, for me anyway. Actually, all the trips to the pizza place after games was one of my favorite parts of this novel.
I love that we get to glimpse into the future and see this happy ending to its finale, and oh what a satisfying one it is! Everything is tied up in a sweet little bow, just how I like it, leaving no questions as to where these characters end up. Mack and Amber are high on my Paradise Springs favorite couple list. I mean, how can you not fall in love with these two good-natured, all-around wonderful characters? This series gets better and better and I cannot wait to read the next installment! Reading The Song of Grace has truly been paradise!
