My Review 🖤

If you want a novel that begins with suspense and doesn't let up then look no further than Amish Country Threats by Dana R. Lynn.  When a house fire takes Lilah's older brother, and only family, from her, she thinks this is the worst of it.  Sadly Lilah's problems are just beginning, but with this terror comes grace in the form of Levi, a friend of her brothers.  The chemistry between these two is apparent from the beginning and though you know what path their both going to take, to witness their relationship growing was truly poetic.

The fast pace of the suspense, and mystery that surrounds who is after Lilah, makes this novel a quick and easy read, though I wish it would've had a few more twists and turns.  There is one question that stuck with me throughout and I was hoping this would be a big twist, but sadly it wasn't, which was disappointing.  Though incredibly predictable, it still makes for a nice read with just that hint of tension to keep a reader going.

As far as the characters themselves I did struggle to connect to them, and felt like I needed more character development to really get to that level.  Despite the disconnect, I did like Lilah and Levi, and hated what they were put through, but seeing the grace that abounded at the end made the fight all worth it.  Doesn't it always?

Though predictable, Amish Country Threats is a nicely paced suspense that would be perfect for your 4th of July read!

  1. Sounds good, I do enjoy Amish suspense, and the shorter length of the Love Inspired books.
