Happy Wednesday Bookworms!
I am back with another review for the Too Busy for Love series which captured my heart from the beginning and each new release continues to get better and better. I hope you enjoy my thoughts on this novel from one of my favorite RomCom series to date!
About the Book
Title: Spurs, Sparks, and StandoffsI thought I had a crush on the Hollywood heartthrob, but his grumpy assistant is stealing the spotlight and my heart.
When Hollywood’s golden boy arrived at the Double Trouble Ranch, I was hoping to lasso his heart. Instead of falling for the swoon-worthy movie star, I find myself drawn to his grumpy, no-nonsense assistant.
The man is all scowls and one-word answers—basically a human storm cloud with a laptop bag slung over his very muscular shoulder. He's my enemy until he swoops in to rescue me from a pack of pushy paparazzi and I catch a glimpse of something deeper. Kindness. Loyalty. A slow, surprising smile.
Now the guy I barely noticed is the only one I want. Except he’s got one foot firmly planted back in Hollywood, and I’m not leaving this ranch for anything.
He manages celebrities. I wrangle ranch guests. We couldn’t be more different, so how could this ever become a Hollywood-worthy love story?
Saddle up for a laugh-out-loud, slow-burn, enemies to lovers rom-com with sizzling chemistry and plenty of cowboy charm. Fans of the Too Busy for Love series won’t want to miss this latest book in the series. This full-length novel may be read as a standalone.

A stormy summer afternoon instead held sunshine and smiles as I read Spurs, Sparks, and Standoffs in one sitting, getting lost in the picturesque Utah scenery and witnessing a charming, sweet love story unfold. Already being familiar with the Double Trouble Ranch and the Too Busy for Love series helped me quickly jump back into this world, and man was it good to be back!
I have enjoyed Mindy’s quirky speak-then-think attitude in past novels, so seeing her center stage was a treat. Caleb isn’t exactly the man that I had envisioned for Mindy, but I quickly saw there was something special between the pair. I couldn’t deny the California Cowboy’s perfection for leveling Mindy out while she’s great at infusing quirkiness into his business-minded existence. There is one scene in particular where Mindy is messing with a journalist on the phone, and it actually made me chuckle, showing exactly what I love about her character.
There really isn’t any major conflict, and this novel is not that serious, but that’s what also makes it so great! No heavy subject matter, adorable characters that complement one another perfectly, all while existing in a perfect setting? It’s better than watching a Hallmark movie!
