MY REVIEW

For a debut novel I was completely blown away with The Rancher’s Want Ad Mix-Up. Such a cute story!! First comes marriage, then comes love?

Della thinks she is answering the ad for a new school teacher, but what she’s walking into is slightly different: she’s inadvertently answering an ad for a mail-order bride, and no one is more surprised than Hank, the most eligible bachelor in town. As a widower, he is convinced he’s already had his chance and found the love of his life, and is solely focused on his business, and his three rambunctious boys, but his parents see this situation differently. Though it takes some time, and a lot of faith, the family finds their way…together.

The family dynamic plays a major role in this novel, which allows each character to shine brightly. Even though Hank is as stubborn as a mule, and rough around the edges, you can’t help but fall in love with the man. He’s just trying to keep it all together and figure out his way, but he is so blind to the blessings that are right there in front of him. Luckily his parents are patient, and faithful, and Della continues to focus on her job of schooling the boys, and helping out the family, letting her actions voice what she feels in her heart.

With a wonderful flow, and beautifully written, The Rancher’s Want Ad Mix-Up transports you back to a simpler time, where hard work and faith go a long way, and shows that even when things don’t go as you planned that doesn’t mean the outcome won’t be one of the biggest blessings of your life.
