He hasn’t written a word in over two years. She’s a well-respected literary agent he hires to repair his reputation. What could go wrong?

Ian Bradberry is a wildly successful author. His crime thriller series has sold millions, but he hasn’t been able to write the final book in the series. Rumors abound on social media that he’s dead, but he’s really hiding out in the small town of Connor’s Grove trying to get his life back together. He suffered a tragic loss that’s left him unable to write and unwilling to communicate with others. He’s Mr. Grumpy personified.

When Ian reaches out to literary agent Addison Steele to help repair his reputation and to represent him in his next book deal, they butt heads, and she isn’t sure that she wants to represent such a non-communicative grouch.

But their mutual attraction keeps pulling them together. Ian makes excuses to interact with Addie and she finds herself helping him with the remodel of a dilapidated farmhouse. Just when Addie and Ian are making strides to build a relationship together, Ian’s mysterious past threatens to break them apart.

Can Ian put his past behind him and find happiness with Addie?

My Review 💚

Such a cute story!!  A grumpy, heartbroken writer is in desperate need of rescuing from himself, as well as a muse, and Addie is the perfect literary agent for the job.  Ian absolutely rubbed me the wrong way at the beginning but he completely redeemed himself in my eyes.

Addie and Ian totally compliment each other, though I did feel like the beginning of their relationship was a bit rushed.  I would've like to have felt like their beginning was more organic, with more details about their budding relationship, and a little less on the renovation details.  I also felt like Addie let Ian off too easy, especially considering what he did to her.  Addie is definitely more forgiving than I would be in that situation!

All in all, Inspire Me is a charming and sweet read with likable characters and relatable situations.  The renovation details brought back good memories of my own reno endeavors, and the Alzheimer's aspect of the story is incredibly powerful to me right now, as my grandfather is nearing the final stages of that heartbreaking disease.

Truly, a charming small-town romance that is incredibly relatable with good writing and a laidback feel, Inspire Me is a winner!

My Rating: ★★★
