In my former life, I was a dancer. At one point, I thought I would be in New York on the chorus line, but sadly, fate intervened, and a freak accident ended my career. True story. Though I was never able to pursue a career in dance, I still have a love for all things dance, which is why I was so excited to read a story that involves dance!

My Review

Curveball on the Dance Floor is a cute and sweet character-driven romance with all the feels. Being an ex-dancer, I was living for the nostalgia. I loved getting to dive back into that world, and it made me miss it so much!

Tony and Chris are great, but what really won me over was the supporting cast. Tony’s parents are seriously the salt of the earth. They are the kind of parents that every parent should strive to be, with their caring spirit and full love and support. Talk about heartwarming in the best way. Little Eli was such a sweet addition, and his interactions with Tony showed just what a change that has been made in his life and what a heart of gold Tony truly has. Chris’s snarkiness, particularly when she was around her dramatic mother, and I adored her relationship with her sister.

There was a lot of this novel that felt a bit disjointed to me, especially when it came to a side narrative that didn’t feel like it quite fit. I also really wanted more sparks between Tony and Chris. Their relationship felt forced and, honestly, I enjoyed them more when their friendship was the focal point.

Still, there is a charm to this story that drew me in. There was a significant twist that I did not see coming, which was pleasantly surprising, though the twist itself was quite the doozy. So much so that I ended up reading this book in one sitting. Who doesn’t love getting lost in a sweet romcom for a night?
