I have a love/hate relationship with short stories. I love that I can squeeze in a quick read but what do you do when you're left craving more? That's exactly how I felt when I read Touched by Fate. The author did an incredible job of putting herself into this story and creating magnetic characters, especially the grandma's. Those two are pure gold! Analyn is a character that I immediately identified with, and my heart went out to her and her plight.
I usually can't wait to finish a book but with Touched by Fate I was sad to see it end so quickly, though I will say the end is incredibly satisfying. A nice, quick short story with depth is a rare gem and this novella is one of those baubles.

Preslaysa Williams is an award-winning author who writes contemporary romance and women's fiction with an Afro-Filipina twist. Proud of her African-American & Filipino heritage, she loves sharing her culture with her readers.
