My Review

The stakes were high with this novel as it is the conclusion to the Treasures of Halstead Manor series and wow did it deliver in every possible way, complete with a shocking and satisfying ending. With intriguing mystery, suspense, and romantic tension I could hardly tear myself away.

It’s always a scary thing to open your heart and when I knew it was time for Brooke’s story to be told that it would tackle her fear of getting hurt again. Brooke hasn’t been dealt the easiest hand in life and she is very guarded, having been a seemingly impenetrable wall around her heart, and for good reason. You can feel that tension emanating from her character almost the entire time you’re reading but it is perfectly balanced with wittiness and banter as well as mesmerizing suspense. This novel truly has it all and having the whole team back together again was amazing.

Susan Tuttle is one of my favorite authors and it seems like her work continues to get better and better with each release. This series has been so enjoyable and this was the perfect conclusion to a five star series.
