ABOUT THE BOOK
Love's gentle promise becomes nothing more than a withered dream
Colt Lawson didn’t want to send that letter to Belle Parish in the first place, but her first response had all but captured his heart. When he is left standing at the altar alone, he is left with two choices—either release his dream of a love marriage, or attempt to win her heart. Wooing her would be a lot easier if that Texas Ranger wasn’t back in town. Who wants a dusty rancher with a past when she could have a shining knight in a Stetson?
My Review
As soon as I was finished with The Finding of Miss Fairfield I immediately started reading The Pursuit of Miss Parish. The Aprons & Veils is such sweet series and I had to see where the adventures would take us next.
This novel did tend to have a slower start than the first book in the series but when it picks up it really brings the tension and drama, the action sequence at the climax being one of the most fear-inducing reads I’ve read in a very long time. I’m not one for spoilers, but I am biting my tongue with this one, wanting to discuss the final suspenseful moments. The entire scene had my heart in my throat as I witnessed one of my greatest fears lived out.
Seeing Colt and Belle, two amazing characters, having to go through what they went through because of the evil chasing them throughout the story was insane. The scene with Psalm 91 (if you know, you know) was hands down one of the most touching scenes I have ever read. Such a powerfully real and heartfelt moment by two that want to love and do the Lord’s will. Just wow…
When I first started reading The Pursuit of Miss Parish, I wasn’t sure if I liked this novel as much as the first book in the series but the more I read the more I was in love. This series continues to get better and better with each volume, and I am so here for it!
