She's a single mom struggling to make ends meet. He's a man who cares enough to extend a helping hand.
Juanita Morales was dismissed from her job and treated like a discarded piece of trash. Her employment at the town’s largest and most prestigious employer has become a black mark on her resume. How will she ever find employment again in this small town?
Brenden Morehouse never understood Juanita’s dismissal. She excelled at her job and brought energy and brightness to the company’s otherwise toxic culture. When he discovers she’s still unemployed, he’s determined to help her.
Brenden’s lead on a job helps Juanita land a new position. She finds joy again in her friendly and caring new employer, their quirky customers, and the handsome finance guy she’s always had a crush on. She can’t resist him, especially when he interacts with her small son. She’s quickly falling for Brenden, and he’s quickly falling for her.
With Juanita’s lost love filling her memories and Brenden’s insecurities after his last failed relationship, both are torn between living in the past and moving on.
Can love help them find joy in the present?
The Melody of Joy is a blend of humor, romance, faith, and life’s second chances. This heart-warming, clean Christian romance is Book 1 in the new Paradise Springs series. This book can be read as a stand-alone.
I adored the Connor Brothers series and was ecstatic when I heard there was going to be a spin-off series featuring some of my favorite characters. The Melody of Joy is the first book in the new Paradise Springs series and man, what a kickoff!
It has the same vibe as The Potter’s House (Three) series, and I was so excited to see Brenden featured! I loved Brenden from The Courage for Love, and couldn’t wait to see him get his happily ever after. He is an absolute doll, the knight in shining armor, helping the damsel in distress when she has hit rock bottom. He is sweet, encouraging, and supportive, and not only falls for the lovely Juanita but her young son Matteo as well.
Juanita is one of those characters you can’t help but fall in love with, and when you see her and sweet little Matteo together you’re a goner. I can’t imagine beginning a life with the one you have given your heart to, only for them to be taken away from you in an instant. Heartbreaking doesn’t begin to sum it up.
Leah did a wonderful job of putting us there in that grief, the image of that young lady laying by a grave with her infant son so vivid and utterly crushing in my mind. Even thinking about it now brings tears to my eyes.
This novel has all the feels, including tension between co-workers, and a love triangle. I won’t spoil anything, but let’s just say it was tension that was much appreciated, and added depth and humanity to these characters, as we are able to see multiple dimensions and motivations, both the good and the bad.
If The Melody of Joy is any indication, this series is going to be another winner. It’s a clean read with a perfect pace, fleshed out characters, and picturesque scenery. You can’t get much better than that!
