But with Evan unwilling to leave his dangerous job, and Rachael unwilling to risk another loss of a loved one, their fears may paint over the promise of a beautiful future together.

The Along Came Love series has been one of my favorite series from the first book, At First Glance. Susan L. Tuttle has a wonderful sense of humor, and she puts such charm into all of her characters that it's not hard to be completely smitten. Never Too Late is the perfect addition to an already stellar series.

One problem I did have with this novel that I didn't have in the other books in the series is that deep connection to the main characters, Rachael and Evan. They are both going through their own profound situations, and me truly empathizing with Rachael in her empty nesting plight, I didn't feel that deep comrade with her that I felt with the other heroines in this series, and honestly I can't quite put my finger on why. She is a great character, and Susan shows off her incredible talent by creating an immersive world that captures your imagination, but Rachael and me didn't have that relation that I normally feel to characters.

Evan is a sweetheart, and one of those men that women dream of giving her heart to, and there were some swoony moments that leaves you with a goofy grin, but don't let that deter you if you're wanting a more serious read. There are some pretty deep issues that are tackled, including fear and grief, something we all can identify with, and perfectly balances the story with some charming moments.

Though Never Too Late can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend reading the whole series to really get the full development, and to read some charming stories with robust characters. I love this series so much and cannot recommend it enough!
