Seventeen years after being orphaned, Apryl Burns and her twin sister Courtney have their own expectations for life. While Courtney continues to shine at everything, Apryl holds fast to the mantra that as long as her potato chip stash remains intact, then she'll be fine.

But when their beloved grandmother ends up injured and unable to manage her struggling antique store, Courtney makes it their mission to revamp the business and save what's left of their family's legacy. Despite rampant doubts in her abilities, Apryl finds herself trapped under the weight of family loyalty as they transition to a wedding venue decorating service. Soon she's forced to ask (translation: blackmail) their grandmother's renter/handyman, Chance McFarland, for help, an arrangement that is made even worse by the fact that Chance is her former (ahem, and current) crush.

My Review ♥️

At fifteen years old, Apryl Burns already felt like she couldn't measure up to her twin, Courtney.  At their birthday party, while watching her crush, Chance McFarland, Chane's dad comes up to her and tells her in no uncertain terms that she is not good enough for her son, and asks her to stay away from him.  It is this defining moment that changes Apryl's heart.  What once had been a strong friendship between Chance and Courtney becomes a snarky, sarcastic relationship between the two, earning her the nickname Angry Apryl, and leaving Chance wondering why the sudden change in his friend.

When Apryl and Courtney were seven years old their parents were killed in a car accident, so they went to live with their grandmother, Gram.  Gram owns and runs an antique shop out of her gorgeous and charming home and Chance's dad rents a space on her property, where he owns a mechanic shop which Chance runs.

When Gram falls and breaks her hip Apryl and Courtney, now in their mid-20's, move back in with her to not only help with her recovery but to also help run the antique shop.  They soon realize that the store is in dire straits and it's going to take a drastic move to save the store from brink of bankruptcy.  In a moment of genius they decide to do something unique: allow brides to rent antiques to help decorate their weddings.  In the blink of an eye Apryl and Courtney's lives are changing in ways that they had only dreamed of and opening their eyes to truths they hadn't previously seen.

I personally found this story to be utterly charming, the premise unique, and the book such a fun read.  The chemistry between Chance and Apryl is electric, and the banter between them reminds me of the banter between my husband and me.  I loved reading about the different types of weddings that Apryl decorated, so much so that I wish I could see them in real life.

As the characters were falling in love with each other I found myself falling in love with them.  They all felt authentic, and I became very vested in what happened to each of them, all except for one scoundrel who I couldn't wait to see if he would get what he deserved.  I loved how they all not only spoke of their faith but lived it, and I rode the same rollercoaster of emotions that each of the characters rode, with the ending satisfying, leaving me smiling.

A charming story that flowed and was a joy to unravel, I would highly recommend Weddings, Willows, and Revised Expectations, a perfect spring read.

My Rating: ★★★★
